All nine local levels of Surkhet have brought budgets. According to the constitutional provision, local levels are required to bring policies, programs and budgets for the new fiscal year by 10 Ashar.

All municipalities here have brought the annual budget for the upcoming fiscal year 083/084 within the stipulated time. The total budget of all nine local levels is 9.73 billion 90 million 91 thousand rupees.

It has been found that the municipalities have continued the old programs in the new policies, programs and budgets. Most municipalities have submitted current expenditure and resource estimates that are almost double the capital expenditure.

Birendranagar Municipality has estimated income and expenditure of Rs 4.71 billion 20 million 72 thousand for the upcoming fiscal year. On Wednesday, in the 19th municipal assembly, Deputy Mayor of the municipality Neelkantha Khanal said that Rs 1.68 billion 31 million 89 thousand (36 percent) has been allocated for current and Rs 3.27 billion 82 thousand (64 percent) for capital for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84.

Similarly, Gurbhakot Municipality has brought a budget of Rs 1.8 billion. The municipality has stated that Rs 600 million has been allocated for current and Rs 580 million 92 thousand for capital.

Bheriganga Municipality has proposed a budget of Rs 430 million. Panchapuri Municipality has brought a budget of Rs 690 million 62 million 34 thousand. Lekbensi Municipality has brought a budget of Rs 690 million 39 million 24 thousand 601. In which Rs 464.191,601 has been allocated for current and Rs 229.833,000 for capital.

Barahatal Rural Municipality has presented a budget of Rs 636.96 million. The current budget is 68 percent of the total budget and the capital budget is 32 percent. Choukune Rural Municipality has presented a budget of Rs 408.666 million for current and Rs 198.750 million for capital, totaling Rs 607.416 million.

Similarly, Simta Rural Municipality has brought a budget of Rs 444.111 million for current and Rs 162.314 million for capital, totaling Rs 606.430 million.

Chingad Rural Municipality has brought a budget of Rs 444.633 million. Of which, Rs 331.81 crore has been allocated for current expenditure and Rs 114.452 crore for capital expenditure.
