The village assembly of Kalimati Rural Municipality has been postponed. The village assembly, which was scheduled to be held on Asad 10, was postponed after two motorcycles collided with each other in Putali Bazaar on Wednesday while returning home from the municipality after completing all the policy and budget work. The village assembly was postponed after a meeting chaired by Vice-Chairman Tolerant Oli DC. The municipality had completed all preparations to make the policy, program and budget public for the village assembly. All the people's representatives, party leaders and general public present in the municipality had returned home after the village assembly was postponed. Yagya Bahadur Khatri, the acting chief administrative officer of the municipality, said that the village assembly was postponed with the consent of everyone after the municipality chairman himself was injured in an accident. He informed that since all preparations including the policy, program and budget have been made and only the public remains to be made public, the date for the village assembly has not been set.
According to him, since the village assembly has to be held by Asad 10 and the policy and program and budget have to be made public, he said that they have prepared accordingly. There is a constitutional provision that the budget should be passed by mid-Asad.
Chairman Dan Bahadur Khatri has been taken to Nepalgunj for treatment due to head and hand injuries, and if there is a delay in treatment, the village assembly will be held under the chairmanship of the vice-chairman.
