The Karnali Province government has allocated Rs 4.81 billion 95 million for the development of water resources and energy in the coming fiscal year. 

Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Rajib Bikram Shah, in his budget speech presented on Monday, informed that Rs 500 million has been allocated for share investment in government-funded hydropower projects. 

According to him, Rs 200 million 33 million has been allocated for the implementation of the Bulbule-Kakrebihar section under the multipurpose project from Bulbule to Nikas Khola. 

Similarly, Rs 66 million 63 million has been allocated for a dozen projects including Simkot, Kharkhola Irrigation, Tatopani, Sisneri, Malarani, Rs 30 million for the Jumlyahamul Tal multipurpose project and Rs 88 million for the Janata Embankment Program.

Finance Minister Shah informed that Rs 40 million has been allocated to operate an electricity scheme for the development of large industries and Rs 5 million for a large-scale irrigation scheme.
