Makkar Bahadur Bhandari has been re-elected as the Jumla president of the National Independent Party (NISP). The first district convention that ended on Sunday elected him as the district president unopposed. Earlier, the party had nominated him as the district president.

Secretary Jagat Bahadur is the previous district secretary. He was re-elected at the first convention.
Pema Lama Tamang has been elected as the tribal member and Shante Kami as the Dalit member. Min Bahadur Budha as the open member and Rama Dharala as the women member were elected unopposed. Two members will be nominated by the first meeting of the district committee.
Before the start of the convention, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Jumla held a rally in the district headquarters, Khalanga.
The newly elected Bhandari started politics by joining the RSS as the School Inspector, Head of the Education Development and Coordination Unit, Jumla. The RSS had made Binita Kathayat a proportional MP from Jumla in the 2079 House of Representatives elections. She was defeated when she was made a direct candidate in the 2082 elections. The RSS had received more than 5,000 votes from Jumla in the proportional representation.
