A flood and landslide in Nepka village of Chankheli Rural Municipality-5 in Humla on Tuesday night has washed away schools and cowsheds. The municipality chairman, Pyarilal Shahi, informed that initial information has been received that the sudden flood along with hail and water has washed away the Danfe Basic School and the cowsheds of some locals.
According to him, there has been no proper phone communication. There has been no human loss, but locals have reported that 2 to 3 local cowsheds and a school building have been damaged.
According to DSP Shankar Khadka, Chief of the District Police Office, Humla, a police team from Melchham police post went to the scene at 5 am on Wednesday. He said that the police team will reach the scene between 9 and 10 am.
Due to the lack of transport facilities, the police are walking to the village. He said that they will get more information after the police reach the scene. The village is located northeast of Simkot, the district headquarters of Humla.
