Jumla's Patarasi Rural Municipality-5 Ward Chairman Datta Bahadur Budha has been arrested on charges of rape.
Police said they arrested him on Wednesday on the basis of an arrest warrant. Police said the court has extended the time limit for investigation into the incident by five days.
'We arrested him after the victim's complaint,' Jumla Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabin Babu Regmi said, 'The victim has filed a complaint that Ward Chairman Budha repeatedly threatened and raped her.'
