Karnali Province Chief Yagyaraj Joshi has said that the responsibility of making Karnali prosperous has fallen on the shoulders of the youth.

He called on the youth to abandon the old mindset that Karnali is poor and uneducated and embark on a new path of prosperity. Addressing the closing ceremony of the Karnali Youth Festival held in Birendranagar since Saturday on Monday, he said that Karnali is full of potential and the responsibility of highlighting those potentials is now on the youth.

'We should stay away from the attitude that Karnali is poor and uneducated,' he said, 'The need of the hour is to move forward with the thought that Karnali is prosperous and has a bright future here.'

Stating that this era belongs to the youth, he suggested that they should work enthusiastically instead of being disappointed in the current situation. 'In Karnali, the first priority should be placed on agriculture, which will make the youth self-employed on their own soil,' he said, 'It is sad that our youth have to leave their potential here and go to Mughal.' The government should come up with a concrete program to encourage youth to engage in agriculture.'

Youth from across the province participated in the Karnali Youth Festival. The festival discussed development, leadership and entrepreneurship.
