A helipad has been constructed at the Provincial Hospital Surkhet . The helipad has been constructed on the roof of the hospital. The hospital administration has stated that with the construction of the helipad, the treatment of patients coming from remote areas will be easier .
A technical inspection and test flight has also been carried out here in coordination with the North-West Region Headquarters of the Nepal Army, Surkhet. The helipad was constructed with the aim of making emergency health services faster, easier and more effective, informed the hospital's Information Officer (Deputy Secretary) Anita Gyawali. She said that the helipad will now play an important role in the rapid rescue and timely treatment of patients in serious and emergency conditions .
Previously, patients who needed to be brought to the provincial hospital by helicopter from remote districts for further treatment were dropped off at Surkhet Airport and taken to the hospital by ambulance.
