Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) parliamentary party leader Gyan Bahadur Shahi has warned the government not to atrocities against real squatters. He said that the state should stop terrorizing real squatters by using dozers.

Addressing the second edition of the 'Karnali Youth Festival' that began in Birendranagar on Saturday, Shahi, a member of the House of Representatives, said, 'I have told the Prime Minister to identify the real squatters. This country belongs to the real squatters. We will support the Prime Minister even if the issue of squatters is resolved by bringing an ordinance. But the state should not cause suffering to the citizens.'

He also said that Banke and Bardiya should be merged with Karnali. Although the party's agenda is to abolish the province, he claimed that it is impractical to keep Karnali separate from Bardiya and Banke during the implementation of federalism.

Shahi says he will support the constitutional amendment that discriminates on the basis of geography in state restructuring. He also argued that the country can never rise without the prosperity of Karnali.
