86 bombs of various types have been found inside the premises of the District Police Office in Bayaldanda, Sharda Municipality-3, Salyan. The bombs were found buried underground during the excavation of the foundation of a new building.
According to Police Inspector Purna KC, Information Officer of the District Police Office, there are 82 socket bombs, three twine bombs and one bottle bomb. After the bombs were found during the excavation, further excavations found seven radio waves, 500 grams of explosives, two kilograms of materials used to make bombs and 10 meters of firing cable.
KC informed that the bombs and materials found were in a rusty state. He said that the bombs were buried for security during the conflict.
He said that coordination has been made with the disposal teams of the Nepali Army from various locations to dispose of the found bombs, and a team of 6/6 people has now arrived at the office under the command of Lieutenant General Krishna Chhetri of the Siddibox Battalion in Simkharka and the command of General Shri Prasad Ramjali from the Kalibhakti Battalion in Bhairahawa.
