Darshan Khatri of Surkhet has been sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering his wife. The Surkhet District Court has sentenced him to life imprisonment.
The bench of District Court Surkhet Judge Basanta Raj Joshi has ruled that Khatri is guilty of the charge of manslaughter and has decided to sentence him to life imprisonment and pay compensation of 300,000 to the relatives of the victim, informed Surkhet District Court Information Officer Ujjwal Dev Rawal.
Khatri, a veteran of the Nepali Army, was arrested by the police a year ago on Baisakh 21, 2082 on the charge of taking his wife Prema Wali to the forest and killing her. A manslaughter case was registered against Khatri in the Surkhet District Court on Jestha 16, 2082.
