Four houses and a shed have been destroyed in a fire in Salyan. Three thatched houses and a shed that burned down in a fire that broke out in Bangad Kupinde Municipality-10, Khanigaun on Monday morning.
The thatched houses of locals Tej Bahadur Pun, Thaman Gharti, Jeevan Pun and Khum Bahadur Pun were destroyed in the fire. The fire that started from Tej Bahadur Pun's shed spread due to the wind and reached the houses of Thaman Gharti, Jeevan Pun and Khum Bahadur Pun nearby, said Police Inspector Devraj Bhatrai, Information Officer of the District Police Office, Salyan.
According to him, the fire was brought under control after three hours with the help of locals and police deployed from Babiyachaur. The amount of damage has not been revealed as the work of collecting the bond is ongoing.
He said that the locals have informed that the locals set fire to the fields near the house on Monday morning and the house may have caught fire through the shed due to the wind.
