The family of a person who lost their life in a wild boar attack has been provided with a compensation of Rs 1.5 million.

On Magh 24, 45-year-old Padam Bahadur Bista died after being attacked by a wild boar while he was herding cattle in Baitakura, Bhairavi Rural Municipality-5, Dailekh.

As per the guidelines for relief assistance from wildlife, the Karnali Provincial Forest Directorate has provided a total of Rs 1.5 million to the family of the deceased, including Rs 1 million from the Karnali Provincial Government and Rs 50,000 from the National Nature Conservation Fund, Bardiya.

The amount from the provincial government has been deposited in the bank account of the deceased family through the Division Forest Office, Dailekh, the directorate said. The amount from the National Nature Conservation Fund was handed over to the deceased's wife Magisara Bista in the presence of the concerned officials.

On the day of the incident, Bista, who had gone to herding cattle near his home, was attacked by a wild boar while returning home. The deceased's brother, Mahesh Bista, has complained that he has not yet received the relief money announced by Bhairavi Rural Municipality.
