The condition of two minors in Ralli village of Tripurasundari Municipality-1 in the Himalayan district of Dolpa has become extremely tragic. The 39-year-old father Jangbir Kulal has been serving a prison sentence in the Dolpa District Jail for the past 18 months, while the children, who were under the care of their mother Jayakwara Kulal, have now become completely helpless after their mother left them.
A relative, Bindu Kulal, said that after the mother, who was the sole support of the family, disappeared from home four days ago with her five-year-old daughter, a son and a daughter were stranded at home.
Having become parentless, they are now struggling to earn a living. Locals said that there is not even a single grain of food in the house. The children from a Dalit family have neither been able to get enough food to eat nor enough clothes to wear. They are of school-going age and have even been deprived of education.
Relatives say that they have also suffered emotionally due to the lack of parents. According to locals, the children are forced to spend their days hungry as they do not have a primary guardian to take care of them closely. In such a situation, relatives have appealed for immediate assistance to save their lives and ensure their future.
