Traffic police have started taking control of modified motorcycles. The Nepal Police Highway Safety and Traffic Management Office, Surkhet, has informed that motorcycles that were being driven after changing their appearance have been taken into control.

According to the office, 30 motorcycles have been taken into control from Surkhet. This campaign has been conducted throughout the province. The office's chief, Mukunda Prasad Rijal, informed that such motorcycles have been taken under control after changing their appearance and starting to make loud noise. According to him, they have been sent to the Transport Management Office for action. The vehicle drivers get it only after paying a fine of 5,000. They are sent back to use the original silencer.

Chief Rijal said that more than 200 seats installed in public vehicles in excess of the seating capacity have also been removed. According to him, the traffic police have intensified the drug and alcohol testing of drivers. Recently, it was found that vehicles were being driven while consuming drugs. The police informed that eight more drivers were found to be consuming drugs during the drug testing.
