The Karnali provincial government has decided to give 6 more public holidays in 2083 BS.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Karnali Province held in Birendranagar today, government spokesperson and Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives Binod Kumar Shah informed.
'The provincial government has decided to give public holidays on Chaitra 12 (Rice Day) and the Chandannath Temple Lingo Carrying Fair on Asoj 22,' he said, 'However, this is only for Jumla district. On the National Rice Day on Asaj 15, a public holiday has been given in 9 districts of the province except Jumla.'
According to him, there will be public holidays across the province on Saune Sankranti and Deuda festival on Shrawan 1, Province Establishment and Martyr's Day on Bhadau 4, and Kojagrat Purnima on Kartik 8.
Similarly, the meeting decided to amend Schedule 2 of the Provincial Government (Division of Work) Regulations, 2074 BS and publish the notification in the Provincial Gazette, Spokesperson Shah said.
