Inspector General of the Armed Police Force Nepal, Raju Aryal, has emphasized the need to make security personnel deployed on the border feel like the real protectors of the nation.

IGP Aryal, who reached Surkhet on Monday on the occasion of the 25th founding day of the No. 6 Maheshwori Bahini Headquarters in Surkhet, said that it is necessary to develop a sense of duty and self-esteem among the soldiers deployed on the border.

‘We should be able to make the soldiers standing on the border feel that we are the protectors, pillars and walls of every border,’ he said, ‘Only then will the heat of the Terai not burn them, nor will the snow of the mountains affect them.’ According to him, only when the soldiers realize the importance of their duty will they become more responsible and dedicated.

He pointed out the need to keep the morale of the security personnel deployed at various border posts in the east-west region including Humla and Dolpa in Karnali Province high. "The border is remote and far away," he said, "That is why the morale of the soldiers deployed there should be strengthened."

Referring to Karnali as the 'martyr's land' for the Armed Police Force, he directed them to work in a manner that shows respect for the martyrs. "Work so that the martyr's soul can find peace," he said. He also praised the role played by the security personnel in ensuring that the House of Representatives member elections held on Falgun 21 were held in a peaceful and fear-free environment.

At the program, Senior Superintendent of No. 6 Maheshwori Bahini Headquarters and Acting Bahinipati Binod Shrestha said that the Armed Police Force is working with high morale despite limited resources at the remote border checkpoints of Karnali. Karnali Province Chief Secretary Birendra Kumar Yadav, Northwest Border Area Chief Dipesh Jung Shah, Chief District Officer, security personnel, families of martyrs and stakeholders were present at the program.
