Karnali Province Chief Minister Yamalal Kandel has said that active participation of the private sector is necessary for the overall development of the province.
Addressing the ninth provincial assembly of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Karnali Province, Chief Minister Kandel said that despite the vast investment potential in Karnali, the private sector has not been involved as expected.
Stating that Karnali is a province rich in natural resources, agriculture, tourism and water resources, he also expressed the view that the door to economic development can be opened by using these sectors as a basis.
'There are many opportunities in Karnali, but it is necessary to identify and invest in those opportunities,' he said, 'The economic prosperity of the province is possible if the private sector can take risks.' He emphasized that now we need to move away from the traditional trend of selling ready-made goods and move towards a production-oriented economy. His argument was that everyone should unite to make Karnali prosperous.
