Police have seized 28 tractors that were illegally excavating and transporting gravel and sand from various places in Salyan.

Out of 10 local levels in Salyan, only two local levels have contracted to excavate riverine materials. DSP Dr. Hem Bahadur KC of the District Police Office said that the tractors with sand were seized because excavation was illegal in other municipalities.
According to him, the municipality took action and paid the fine, and 16 tractors with sand were released. He said that action was taken against the JCB and tipper that were illegally excavating riverine materials a few months ago. He said that the risk of erosion in local river areas including the Sharda River has increased due to the indiscriminate mining of gravel and sand.
