A fire has broken out in the forest near the district headquarters of Rukum West, Khalanga Bazaar. The fire that has been going on for some time has not been brought under control.
The fire has been burning since 7 pm in the forest below Salle, Musikot Municipality-2. It is not known who started the fire, said Police Inspector Hari Pun, Information Officer of the District Police Office.
‘Along with the police, the Nepal Army and the Armed Police Force are currently trying to put out the fire,’ he said. ‘Since there are houses nearby, attention has also been paid to ensuring that no further damage occurs.’
This forest area near the district headquarters and its surroundings are prone to fires every year. But the cause and culprit have not been identified yet.
