Surkhet police have taken 16 people under control on charges of acting as middlemen. The District Police Office, Surkhet, has stated that they were taken under control from the Transport Management Office and the Land Revenue Office in Birendranagar.
DSP Mohanjung Budthapa, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Surkhet, informed that 16 people, including 10 women and 6 men, have been taken under control from both offices.
He said that they were acting as middlemen by taking money by saying that they would renew the vehicle registration book (billbook) of the service recipients, transfer land and provide land service-related work. They are accused of obstructing the flow of public services by acting as middlemen.
The police have stated that further investigation is underway against them. The police have also taken into control documents including billbooks from them.
