The 'Karnali Samriddhi Mahotsav-2082' has started in Birendranagar, the capital of Karnali Province, from Wednesday. The festival is being organized by the National Folklore Foundation Nepal and the District Working Committee Surkhet from Chaitra 1 to 22. The organizers have stated that the festival, which started at the Radio Nepal premises in Birendranagar Municipality-1, will feature performances by national and local renowned artists. The festival has been organized with the aim of promoting the art and culture of Karnali and making local businesses active. The president of the foundation, Kabi Giri, said that the festival will help promote local products. According to him, local products, handicrafts and entrepreneurial materials will be displayed and sold at the trade stalls set up at the festival. Hari Bista, the coordinator of the main organizing committee, informed that paragliding has been arranged from a cattle cart throughout the fair. According to him, it is believed that this will attract domestic and foreign tourists. According to the organizers, the festival is expected to support tourism, art, culture and the local economy of Karnali.
