Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Madhav Prasad Chaulagain has inspected the Bheri Corridor on-site. After the inspection, Minister Chaulagain said that projects are being delayed due to local contractors.

Minister Chaulagain had reached Dolpa by road on Monday. ‘When we studied, it was the contractors here who were the ones who were delaying many projects in Karnali,’ he said. ‘Until the contractors are not held accountable and cannot be held accountable, Karnali’s development cannot gain momentum.’

He also pointed out that teamwork is necessary to make development effective. He said that the fourteen bridges of the Bheri Corridor should be included as a multi-year plan.

During his visit to Dolpa, Minister Chaulagain inspected the road sections under the Bheri Corridor and offered prayers at the famous Shaktipeeth Shri Bala Tripurasundari Temple.

Chief District Officer Junu Hamal briefed the team including the minister about the overall situation of the district.

The team had inquired about the Lasikap-Sisaul road under the corridor. Similarly, they were also interested in the progress of the Dunai-Lasikap road.
