For three meter boxes  Ward Chairman Pradeep Khadga of Kapurkot Rural Municipality-3 has been on a 4-hour dharna . He has received a meter box after staging a dharna at the Electricity Authority office in Khalanga, Salyan, demanding that the lights be turned on in the homes of ward residents.

After being unable to come to Khalanga due to various financial problems, Chairman Khadga had come to Khalanga at 1 pm on Sunday to take the meter boxes for Anjana Khadga, Ramkali Bohara and Lal Bahadur Khadga of Ward No. 3 Katujeri.

As per the advice of the office, he had registered the files of three people for the meter boxes and paid the due fees and revenue on Sunday afternoon . Even after completing all the procedures, the head and employees of the office were hesitant and said that the meter boxes could not be given immediately, Khadga staged a dharna from 5.30 pm to 9.30 pm on Sunday .

After news of the sit-in started spreading on social media, the NEA office provided him with three meter boxes at around 10 pm.

Khadga says that he reached the NEA on Sunday to take the meter boxes. 'Even after completing all the procedures, I was forced to stage the sit-in after Chief Naresh Dutt Rawat said that he could not provide the meter boxes immediately,' said Ward Chairman Khadga. He informed that he received the meter at around 10 pm after the sit-in and that he abandoned the sit-in and returned home at night.

'As per the district complete electrification program, electricity poles were buried and wires were pulled in Katujeri of Ward No. 3 six months ago. Most of the 13 houses had already turned on the lights. Due to various problems, three families were not able to turn on the lights,' he said, 'I have reached Khalanga to fulfill my obligation.' If people's representatives are tried to be swayed by various things, what will be the condition of the common people?'

Naresh Dutt Rawat, head of the Electricity Authority, has said that there is a process to provide materials with codes within 24 hours of the application of consumers and service recipients, and since meter boxes cannot be provided without codes, they could not be provided immediately.
