A pregnant woman from Chankheli Rural Municipality of Humla has been rescued by a Nepal Army helicopter.
On Saturday, Basana Shahi, 34, of Chankheli Rural Municipality-4, was brought to the Provincial Hospital in Surkhet for further treatment.
According to Humla Chief District Officer Tek Kumar Regmi, the local health institution referred her to Surkhet after a complex problem was detected in her unborn baby.
He said that she was sent with the confidence that the lives of the mother and the baby can be saved as the necessary equipment and facilities are available at the Provincial Hospital.
She was rescued through the President's Women Upliftment Program run by the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens.
