A 13-year-old girl who was raped by her friend's father has been brought to a safe house in Manma Bazaar from the Ekdwar Crisis Management Center of the District Hospital.
After providing necessary services at the hospital, she was sent to a safe house run by Sosec Nepal, said the hospital's chief, Dr. Ratnabir Sunar. She has been sent to a safe house after being provided with the necessary services provided by the hospital. He said, "She has been sent to undergo necessary counseling under the supervision of OCMC."
Even though the investigation of the male perpetrator in police custody has been completed, he is still in custody as there is no government prosecutor or judge in the district, said Investigation Officer Ganesh Gyawali.
"After arresting the perpetrator, the district judge had given him a 12-day remand through the government prosecutor. 12 days have not yet been reached. He said that after the government prosecutor and the husband (district judge) come, he will be produced in court and sent to jail," he said. He informed that since the perpetrator has admitted to committing rape, he will be produced in court after completing the necessary procedures.
The victim's complaint states that the man, who had sent his wife to Kathmandu to raise her children, raped the girl on the night of Magh 13 after she was raped.
Women's rights activist Padma Tiruwa said that strict action should be taken against the man, who is also a member of the Raskot Nagar Committee of the CPN-Maoist, who is involved in heinous crimes like rape. Meanwhile, a team led by Seema Shahi on behalf of the Karnali Province Gen-G Red Force, close to the Nepali Communist Party, has submitted a memorandum to Chief District Officer Gorkan Raj Suyal demanding legal action, saying that the accused, a leader of the CPN-Maoist, raped the girl and made her pregnant by paying her money.
