A two-day health camp has started at the basic hospital Mehelmudi in Sannitriveni. The sexual and reproductive health camp targeting women and adolescents began on Wednesday.

A team of doctors including Dr. Prakash Poudel from Kalikot District Hospital, Durga Shahi of OCAC, and Dr. Komal Prasad Baral of Raskot Municipal Hospital have started checking patients in Sannitriveni, which has no doctor despite having a hospital, Babita Shahi of the health department informed.

The empowered girls project, run in collaboration with Plan International and Kridak Nepal in coordination with the rural municipality, has provided free medicines and consultation services. The vice-chairman of the municipality, Parbati Singh Sanjyal, said that this camp has made it easier for patients who cannot reach distant hospitals.

'The camp will provide relief to the sisters who are forced to stay in the village due to illness,' she said, 'Those with complex problems will be referred to a well-equipped hospital.'

Municipal Chairman Mohan Bahadur KC said that the camp being held at a remote hospital will provide relief to those who cannot go for treatment due to financial constraints.
