A team from Bardiya National Park has been deployed to search for those who went missing while hunting. A joint team of Nepal Police, Nepal Army and the park has been mobilized to the scene of the incident since Tuesday morning to search for those from Surkhet who entered the Bardiya National Park area.
According to the park's information officer Sarojmani Poudel, the search will be carried out with the help of drone cameras in the potential area. The incident is about 17 kilometers north of the park office. According to the District Police Office, Surkhet, on February 23, six people, including five from Barahatal Rural Municipality-1 of Surkhet and one from Lekbesi Municipality-8, entered the core area of the park with loaded guns to hunt.
They are 25-year-old Resham Samseli, 41-year-old Ravilal Damai, 34-year-old Ram Bahadur Gharti, 30-year-old Sunil Samseli, 33-year-old Top Bahadur Khatri and 45-year-old Durga Bahadur Sijali.
After the incident, five people returned home but are absconding. Top Bahadur has not returned. A search is underway for them, said Mohan Jung Budhapa, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Surkhet. The police say that the real details of the incident will be revealed only after Top Bahadur has not returned home and his condition is known.
