Hari Bahadur Budha, 38, of Kolla village, Thulibheri Municipality-7, Dolpa, has been bedridden for seven years after suffering a back problem after falling from a ladder at home. Due to lack of treatment, half of his body has stopped moving, and the wounds on his body are getting worse. 'The wounds on his anus and legs are causing him great pain,' he said.
Hari Bahadur is now on the verge of death due to lack of funds. His family is in even greater trouble after the main breadwinner of the family died. Although he was taken to Bir Hospital in Kathmandu for treatment by collecting donations from the village, his family members said that he was sent home without completing the treatment due to insufficient funds. Hari Bahadur has two sons and two daughters.
His wife Mankumari said that due to his poor financial situation, the upbringing and education of his children have also been affected. 'Please save our father, we want to study,' she said, adding that the appeal made by her children to the well-wishers makes her very sad.
36-year-old Mrs. Mankumari said that a large amount of money is needed for her husband's treatment, but the family's condition is very poor, so treatment is not possible. 'We have to wait for our husband all day. We cannot even go out to work. It has become difficult to feed, shelter and educate the children,' she said.
According to her, Hari Bahadur, who was seriously injured after falling from the balcony of his house seven years ago, could not receive effective treatment on time. Since then, he has been bedridden. 'When I see his condition, as if he was dying, sometimes I feel like I should die too,' Mankumari said with tears in her eyes.
The family has been appealing to the government, various organizations and Nepali well-wishers in the country and abroad for financial assistance for Hari Bahadur's treatment and the children's education.
