Election police officers who were recruited for the peace and security management of the House of Representatives elections on Falgun 21 have been dismissed. The District Police Office, Surkhet, organized a formal program at the open air on Thursday to bid farewell to 1,628 election police officers.
1,628 election police officers were recruited in Surkhet on Magh 18 for the elections. The Election Police played an important role in the security management of the general election and were also given certificates.
Acting Chief District Officer of Surkhet, Dil Bahadur Karki, said at the farewell program that the Election Police played the most important role in the peaceful completion of the elections. He said that the knowledge, skills and training learned during the 40-day work period will be useful in personal and social life. Election Police Officer Kamala Khadka said that the things that the security force training taught will be useful in daily life.
‘We have returned home after fulfilling our responsibilities,’ she said, ‘May we get opportunities in the upcoming local and provincial elections.’
Surkhet Police Chief SP Sudhir Raj Shahi thanked the election police for efficiently fulfilling the responsibilities given by the state. He urged them to participate in the upcoming provincial assembly and local elections as well.
52 thousand has been paid through the bank account for ration allowance, uniform expenses, salary, operational expenses and lunch. The election police have been provided with 40 days’ worth of remuneration.
