Candidates contesting for the House of Representatives seat from the Himalayan district of Dolpa have made their election expenditure details public.

In accordance with Section 72 of the House of Representatives Election Act, 2074 BS and the election code of conduct approved by the Election Commission, the candidates have submitted their election expenditure details to the District Election Office, Dolpa.

Nepali Communist Party candidate and newly elected MP Dhan Bahadur Budha has stated that he spent Rs 1 million 2 thousand during the election period. According to the details submitted to the election office, he has mentioned that Rs 5 million was spent on jeep rental, Rs 1 lakh 92 thousand on food and snacks, Rs 91 thousand on voter training, Rs 94 thousand on printing sample ballot papers, Rs 10 thousand on nomination registration and Rs 3 thousand on printing voter lists.

Similarly, CPN-UML candidate Lanka Bahadur Rokaya has submitted the details of spending the highest amount of Rs 1.8 million 99 thousand. According to the details he submitted, it is mentioned that Rs 620,000 was spent on vehicle (jeep fare), Rs 150,000 on sample ballots, posters and flags, Rs 10,000 on photocopying voter lists, Rs 400,000 on hotel, food, breakfast and lodging, Rs 500,000 on petrol expenses, Rs 10,000 on nomination registration, Rs 3,000 on printing voter lists and Rs 206,000 on food, breakfast and lodging at Hotel Tripurakot.

Similarly, independent candidate Omendra Bahadur KC has stated that the least amount of expenditure was Rs 39,000. According to the details he submitted, it is mentioned that Rs 10,000 was spent on nomination registration, Rs 4,000 on petrol, Rs 15,000 on printing pamphlets and manifestos and Rs 10,000 on breakfast.

Progressive Democratic Party candidate Bikash Budha has submitted details of spending Rs 473,000 during the election period. According to the details, Rs 150,000 was spent on jeep rental, Rs 150,000 on petrol, Rs 100,000 on food, breakfast and lodging at Hotel Tripurasundari, Rs 5,000 on sample ballots, Rs 5,000 on photocopy of name list, Rs 3,000 on purchase of voter list and Rs 10,000 on nomination registration.

Similarly, National Independent Party candidate Dev Singh Aidi has submitted details of spending Rs 274,950 during the election period. According to the details he submitted, Rs 19,500 was spent on hotel food, Rs 19,000 on room rental, Rs 17,950 on lunch, Rs 90,000 on printing of sample ballots, Rs 6,000 on photocopy of voter list, Rs 10,000 on nomination registration, Rs 3,000 on purchase of voter list, Rs 74,000 on vehicle (jeep rental) and Rs 5,000 on petrol.

As of Tuesday, Nepali Congress candidate Karna Bahadur Budha has not submitted his election expenditure details.

According to the details submitted to the District Election Office, it is seen that the candidates spent mainly on election campaigning, transportation, catering, and promotional materials.
