NCP's Mahendra Bahadur Shahi elected for the fourth time in Kalikot

Shahi won by a margin of 986 votes over UML's Nagindra Shahi National. Nagindra received 10,352 votes.

In Kalikot, which has only one constituency, Mahendra Bahadur Shahi of the NCP won by getting 11,338 votes. He defeated Nagindra Shahi of the UML by a margin of 986 votes. Nagindra got 10,352 votes. Harsha Bahadur Bam of the Nepali Congress got 7,133 votes.

Similarly, Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma, spokesperson of the NCP-Maoist, got 4,599 votes, while the candidate of the National Independent Party, Prakash Neupane, got 2,937 votes.

Nanda Bahadur Shahi of the NEPCI got 597 votes, Surya Bahadur Shahi of the RPP got 566 votes, and Aj Bahadur Giri of the Rastriya Janamorcha got 269 votes.

Shahi, a former sixth division commander of the People's Liberation Army, was elected a member of the second Constituent Assembly in 2070 and became the Minister of Energy in 2074, and became the first Chief Minister of Karnali Province after being elected a member of the Provincial Assembly. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2079 from a coalition including the Congress, Maoist Center, and Unified Socialists. This is his fourth victory. 

Shahi, who sought votes to complete the incomplete and inadequate plans of Kalikot, expressed his commitment to work on the upgrading of the Karnali Highway and Corridor, construction of the Fugad semi-reservoir hydropower plant, and operation of the Kotwada Airport.
