Ballot boxes are still to be collected from 20 polling stations in the Himalayan district of Dolpa. Of the 23 polling stations in Upper Dolpa, only 9 have been transported by helicopter, while ballot boxes from 14 more are yet to be brought.
Ballot boxes from 6 polling stations in Jagdulla Rural Municipality in Lower Dolpa were brought by vehicle this morning, but they have not yet reached Dunai.
Ballot boxes from 41 places in Tripurasundari, Thuliveri Municipality, Kaike and Mudkechula Rural Municipality have been delivered to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer in Dunai, said Tapendra Budhamagar, Information Officer of the District Police Office, Dolpa. 70 polling stations, both permanent and temporary, were set up in Dolpa. Of these, ballot boxes from 50 polling stations have been brought to Dunai so far.
It is said that the delay in transporting the ballot boxes has been due to geographical difficulties.
