The counting of votes has begun in Rukum East. It is said that after the collection of ballot boxes from all the polling stations was completed last night, an all-party meeting was held in the morning and the counting began.
Out of a total of 34,772 voters, 18,604, or about 51 percent, were cast in Rukum East.
There are 57 polling stations, including 1 temporary one, in Rukum East, which has a total of 44 polling stations. The ballot boxes were brought to the district headquarters by helicopter from Ward No. 1 Pakhapani of Sisne Rural Municipality and Ward No. 2 of Puthauttarganga Rural Municipality by Hardibang and Pelma yesterday evening, while the remaining ballot boxes were collected overnight.
