Two employees assigned to a designated polling station at the ward office in Phot village, Shey-Phoksundo rural municipality-6, Upper Dolpa, have been rescued by helicopter.
Election Officer Bidur Koirala informed that assistant employee Gorkha Bahadur Thapa and election policeman Krishna Jhakri, who had gone to conduct the election of members of the House of Representatives on Thursday, were rescued by helicopter and brought to the district headquarters.
According to District Police Office Information Officer Topendra Budhamagar, five people, including two employees and three election policemen, who were deployed for the election, fell ill.
Budhamagar said that since the condition of the three people was normal, only two were rescued and brought back. Both of the rescued people are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Dolpa.
Among the employees who reached the polling station by helicopter, one employee and one election policeman had breathing problems and the rest had nosebleeds.
