A team of provincial security chiefs, including Karnali Province Chief Secretary Birendra Kumar Yadav, has returned to Jumla. The team, which reached Jumla to assess the security situation for the upcoming House of Representatives elections on Falgun 21, returned to Surkhet on Sunday. 

The team gathered information on election preparations in Jumla, security conditions at polling stations, voter education and ballot box security. ‘The team of security chiefs, who reached Jumla via a Nepali Army Sky Truck, gathered information on the overall election security,’ said Jumla Chief District Officer Dipendra Poudel. ‘We briefed them on the security sensitivity of the district and the preparations for the election.’ 

The 24th Battalion on behalf of the Nepali Army had provided information on the security situation. Chief District Officer Poudel had made a presentation on the security situation in the entire district. According to him, out of 110 polling stations in the district, 52 polling stations are highly sensitive, 25 polling stations are sensitive and 21 polling stations are normal. 

Chief District Officer Poudel informed that employees and security personnel have been mobilized at all polling stations. A review was also conducted on the activities carried out in the past elections. The team of provincial security chiefs had also directed to adopt security alertness for the upcoming elections. 

The security chiefs not only provided information about the geographical location of Jumla, the condition of polling stations and polling places, but also directed to be vigilant in the overall security of the elections. 

The team included the provincial chief secretary, Nepal Army's North West Division Chief Dipesh Jung Shah, Provincial Police Chief Jayaraj Sapkota, and Provincial Acting Battalion Chief of the Armed Police Force Binod Raj Shrestha. 

The team had discussions with the district security chiefs and the chief of the District Election Office.
