A team of provincial security chiefs, including Karnali Province Chief Secretary Birendra Kumar Yadav, has reached Dolpa to assess the security situation for the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21.

The team has reached Dolpa to gather information about the security sensitivity of polling stations and voters in the midst of the ongoing election preparations in the district.

The team, which reached the district on Sunday morning via a Nepali Army sky truck, informed Chief District Officer Junu Hamal that they had gathered information about the election security in the entire district. Chief District Officer Hamal had said that she had started sending election materials, staff and security personnel to the polling stations in Upper Dolpa by two helicopters from Saturday.

Stating that there was a problem in transporting and bringing staff to the polling stations in the upper area due to geographical remoteness, she urged the team from the province to facilitate the transportation of staff deployed in the upper area after the election.

The team including Nepal Army's North West Division Commander Dipesh Jung Shah, Provincial Police Chief Jayaraj Sapkota, and Provincial Acting Battalion Commander of the Armed Police Force Binodraj Shrestha had reached Dolpa.
