Preparations for the election in the Himalayan district of Dolpa have reached the final stage. The preparations for the upcoming House of Representatives elections scheduled for 21 Falgun have reached the final stage, according to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Dolpa.

 

It has been decided how many ballot papers will be sent to which polling station . Other materials including ballot boxes are also in preparation . Apart from sending employees and election materials, other preparations have been completed, said Vidur Koirala, Information Officer of the District Court, Dolpa.

'Employee recruitment has also been completed . Now, on the 14th, we will issue appointment letters to the election officers who will be deployed at the polling stations and send ballot papers and other materials along with them,' he added.

According to him, in the first phase, employees, ballot papers and other materials will be sent by helicopter to She-Phoksundo, Dolpobuddha and Charkatangsong rural municipalities in Upper Dolpa .

In the second phase, preparations are being made to send them to Kaike, Jagadulla and Mudkechula rural municipalities in Lower Dolpa, and finally to Thuliveri and Tripurasundari municipalities .

It is said that preparations are being made to send election materials and staff in vehicles in the lower areas.

There are a total of 70 polling stations in Dolpa, including 68 permanent and two temporary, and 383 staff have been deployed, according to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer.

There are a total of 24,115 voters in Dolpa, which has only one House of Representatives constituency. Of these, 12,187 are female and 11,928 are male voters.

Seven candidates have entered the election fray in Dolpa.
