Five loaded guns have been recovered from a forest in Salyan as the House of Representatives elections approach.

The police recovered the loaded guns from a forest near Ranipokhari in Jumlesalla Community Forest of Chhatreshwari Rural Municipality-2.

The recovered loaded guns were brought to the District Police Office, Salyan, and kept there, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Dr. Hem Bahadur KC. He informed that the loaded guns were found during a search based on confidential information.

According to him, the loaded guns are usable. It is not clear who hid the loaded guns. Pranau KC said that the locals have been using them to kill wild animals and may have hidden them in the forest out of fear of being arrested if found by the police.

Pranau KC informed that over the past two months, more than 50 loaded guns have been recovered from various places in the district, hidden in the forest, and most of them are being used.
