In the election, there is no communication in some places as the candidates compete with each other. They consider each other as competitors, so there is no opportunity to communicate. But a different scene has been seen in Jumla.
CPN-UML's direct candidate Shantilal Mahat has called Nepali Congress candidate Deep Bahadur Shahi to ask for votes. Locals said that their practice has spread a positive message in the district.
UML candidate Mahat, who reached Bua village of Hima Rural Municipality-5, called Congress candidate Shahi and requested him to vote for him. He said in the phone conversation, 'I have arrived in your village. To ask for votes. You have to ask for votes.'
Shahi suggested in response that since CPN candidate Naresh Bhandari has been elected as a member of the Constituent Assembly and a member of the Provincial Assembly once and has also been a minister, and Gyan Bahadur Shahi has become an MP, this time the results should be in their favor. He said, ‘Jumla does not repeat MPs. That is why you should ask for votes from the voters properly.’
Addressing Shantilal as brother, Deep Bahadur said, ‘Welcome.’ Shantilal added, ‘No one asked me to go home. I asked for votes through you.’ The phone conversation ended when Deep Bahadur said, ‘No one asked me to go home.’
After Shantilal called and asked for votes along with the candidate, the leaders and workers who went on the campaign with him became excited. Locals said that this conversation between them sent a message that every contesting candidate in the election should move forward with positive thinking and mutual understanding.
