A woman has gone missing after drowning in the Bheri River. 21-year-old Pushpa Singh, a resident of Baruwa, Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City-6, Dang, and a resident of Sunauli, Kupinde Municipality-6, Bangad, has gone missing after jumping from a bridge in the Bheri River near Sallibazar.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office, Salyan, Dr. Hem Bahadur KC, Pushpa jumped from the bridge while taking a photo.
Pushpa's husband Tridev Malla was also with her. Jitendra Shah, 42, of Sallibazar, Bangad Kupinde Municipality-1, who jumped into the river to rescue Pushpa, also drowned and was seriously injured. Pranau KC informed that he was rescued by locals and the police.
According to him, Shah is being treated at a hospital in Mehlakuna, Surkhet after the rescue and the search for the missing woman is ongoing. He said that the incident is being investigated.
