Police have taken into custody 18 autorickshaws operating without a driver's license in Salyan.
Police deployed for checking traffic and other activities have seized autorickshaws from Khalanga, Luham, Kapurkot, Tharmare, and Sallibazar in the district for being operated without licenses.
Salyan Police Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police Dr. Hem Bahadur KC said that the checking has been tightened as the risk of accidents increases when autorickshaws, which have a carrying capacity of only three people, carry more passengers than their capacity.
He said that the tightening has been done because operating autorickshaws without licenses in the name of providing convenience poses a risk to passengers.
