A request has been made for the use of helicopters at 23 polling stations in the Himalayan district of Dolpa.

Helicopters have been requested to transport election materials, staff and security personnel to 23 polling stations in Upper Dolpa.

District Election Officer Dilkrishna Shrestha informed that a helicopter has been requested to transport election materials, staff and security personnel to 23 polling stations in the district for the House of Representatives member election scheduled for Falgun 21.

He said that since the polling stations in Upper Dolpa are geographically remote, there is no alternative to using helicopters to conduct the election. According to him, 19 employees, apart from the Nepal Army Armed Police, are deployed at a polling station from the district. Three more are deployed from the municipality.
The District Election Office has stated that 437 employees from the district alone will have to be transported by helicopter at the rate of 19 people.

This time, due to heavy snowfall in the upper Dolpa region, there has been a demand to transport the Nepal Army and Armed Police Force deployed at the polling stations by helicopter. There are a total of 68 polling stations in the district, and the total number of voters is 24,125.
