Training has begun at five locations for election police recruited in Salyan for the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on February 21.
Training has begun in Luhaping of the district headquarters, Khalanga, Tharmare of the IPR, Luham of the IPR, Ragechaur of the IPR and the Armed Police Force Luhaping.
Out of the demand for 1,406 election police officers to be deployed at 117 polling stations and 205 polling centers in the district, 860 have been trained through the District Police Office, Salyan, 150 in Ragechaur of the IPR, 150 in Tharmare, 150 in Luham and 96 in the Armed Police Force Luhaping, said Hem Bahadur KC, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Salyan.
Pranau KC said that out of the 1,406 people recruited as election police officers, 447 are women.
