In the February 21 House of Representatives elections, party and independent candidates are reaching voters' doorsteps with similar development agendas.

The candidates are reaching out to voters' doorsteps, promising to do all they can for the overall development of the district.

The candidates who participated in various elections in the past were reaching out to voters in the villages with agendas such as blacktopping the Rapti Highway and the district's subsidiary roads for the overall development of the district, taking initiatives to expand the District Hospital Salyan to 50 beds, and taking initiatives in education, health, electricity, modern agriculture, one house one job, providing water to every household, good governance, accountability and transparency. The current candidates are also reaching out to voters with the same old agenda.

The candidates who have reached various municipalities in the district for campaigning have been luring voters by saying that they will fulfill their commitments if elected.

NCP candidate Ramesh Malla said that his agenda is to make good governance, accountability, transparency and efficiency in the overall development of the district as well as good governance. He informed that he was the personal secretary of NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal when he was the Prime Minister and is taking all possible initiatives for the overall development of the district. ‘The remote villages of the district still do not have access to drinking water and electricity. The general public is facing problems due to problems with health services and other services. There is still a problem in selling the products produced by farmers in the district. After being elected, I will actively work to solve the problems of the common people along with the development of the district,’ he said.

Congress leader Kesh Bahadur Bista said that not only the overall development of the district but also the solution of the problems of the common people who are deprived of general services is his main agenda. During his campaign, he promised to do his best to fulfill the demand of the locals for drinking water.

Chandra Bahadur Khadga, who is contesting the election for the first time from the CPN-Maoist, said that his agenda is not only the development of the entire district but also ensuring the rights of the families of those who were martyred, injured, and disappeared during the 10-year people's war, and making laws in favor of the people. He said that the overall development of the district will not only be on paper but will be demonstrated through implementation.

UML leader and candidate Gulabjung Shah said that his agenda has prioritized education, health, roads, drinking water, electricity, and employment. He said that if he is elected, he will leave no stone unturned to fulfill all his commitments.

RPP candidate Anisha Nepali said that she is approaching voters with agendas such as the overall development of the district, abolishing federalism, non-party local levels, and taking action against corrupt people.
