This time the provincial assembly will start from the temporary parliament chamber. The provincial assembly was completely damaged during the Gen-G agitation on 23rd and 24th Bhadra. Since the provincial assembly is under renovation, the session will be held in the assembly hall of the Agriculture and Livestock Business Promotion Training Center under the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives.
During the agitation, the protesters also vandalized and set fire to the buildings of the provincial assembly secretariat complex under the Karnali provincial government, causing damage worth crores of rupees.
The arson and vandalism committed by the protesters inside the parliament building caused great damage to furniture, fixtures, computers, electronics, vehicles and other physical structures and materials.
According to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, arson and vandalism caused material damage worth Rs 39.416,394. Since the Parliament session cannot be held immediately in the Provincial Assembly building damaged due to the protests, the session is being held by adopting alternative measures, informed Provincial Assembly Secretary Jibaraj Budhathoki.
Until some time ago, preparations were made to conduct the session from the Information Technology Room of the Provincial Assembly. But later preparations were made at the Training Center.
The session will be held here until the temporary meeting room under construction in the Provincial Assembly premises is completed.
