Candidate selling books to raise election funds

Manarishi Dhital, a candidate from the Progressive Democratic Party in Jumla, is selling books to raise election funds.

Dhital said that the money from the book sales will be used to cover election expenses in the February 21 House of Representatives election.

Candidates from other parties are canvassing voters with development agendas. Dhital, who was previously in journalism, has been canvassing voters' books. He said, "I am selling books to raise election expenses. I am not just selling books, I am also providing an opportunity to study ideas and history."

He had published 8 books in 2080 BS. He is selling bundles of those books. Dhital said that he sells them for up to five thousand rupees per bundle. He said, "Some are buying them for five thousand, while others are adding more money saying that they will help with election expenses."

He said that he aims to deliver his books to every settlement in Jumla. Dhital also said that Jumla has always been in favor of change. ‘Jumla is in favor of alternatives with ideas,’ Dhital added, ‘We have entered the election field as per the advice and orders of the Jumli people.’ He argues that since elections are the highest form of democracy, everyone should present themselves responsibly. There are 10 candidates in the race in Jumla. The election competition looks very interesting as five candidates, including him, are from the Sinja area.
