Pawan Shahi, who was seriously injured after being shot during the Gen-G movement, has been given a grand welcome in his home district of Kalikot.

Pawan, 25, of Khadachakra-1, who was injured in a gunshot wound during the protest in Kathmandu on Bhadra 23, has returned home after 5 months of treatment in Kathmandu. The locals of Manma Bazaar welcomed him with musical instruments, flower garlands, and food offerings.

Shahi is a football player who was shot in the stomach and arm during the protest. His father Ain Bahadur Shahi said that he reached Kalikot on Friday after receiving treatment at the Trauma Center in Kathmandu. He is also a former national volleyball player. 

When Shahi reached Manma in Kalikot via Surkhet on Friday, he was warmly welcomed by the leaders and cadres of political parties in the district, Manma, Tadi and other relatives, his elder father Surya Bahadur Shahi said. 

Shahi, who was injured in the Gen-G protest, has been placed on the list of proportional representatives by the National Independent Party. He said that he returned to the district to meet the people of Kalikot and seek votes.
