43 polling stations in Salyan 'highly sensitive'

Of the 117 polling stations in Salyan, 43 have been placed on the 'highly sensitive' list. 57 polling stations in the district are sensitive.

Chief District Officer Mahendra Kumar Sapkota said that the polling stations have been classified considering geographical remoteness, security, road, communication access, etc. He informed that security arrangements and travel times have been arranged for the highly sensitive and sensitive polling stations accordingly. According to him, only 17 of the 117 polling stations in Salyan are normal. He said that arrangements have been made for the mobilization of the police, armed forces, army and election police for the election. He said that preparations are being made to call in security personnel from other districts as the security personnel in the district are not sufficient. He said that arrangements will be made for three security personnel in normal, five in sensitive and at least seven in highly sensitive polling stations. There are 205 polling stations in Salyan in 117 polling stations. There are 162,449 voters in the district.
