The Road Division Office, Jumla, has opened the Nagma Gamgadi Road using a dozer.
More than one and a half feet of snow had accumulated in the Satmad area of the Nagma Gamgadi road section. This made it difficult for small and large vehicles to move around.
Mugu residents were forced to walk in the snow as they could not travel easily by car. Mugu Chief District Officer Khadananda Khatri said that the snow accumulated on the nearly three-kilometer road section was removed by dozers.
He said, ‘We searched for a dozer in Mugu to remove the snow but could not find one. We have ordered a dozer from Jumla in coordination with the Road Division Office and are moving forward by opening the road.’
According to him, there is currently a problem with large vehicles. But small vehicles are moving freely. ‘We have sent some large vehicles to Jumla by towing them with dozers,’ said Chief District Officer Khatri, ‘There is no problem now as the snow accumulated on the road has been completely removed.’
Nagma Gamgadi road was closed for two days due to thick snow on the road. The Road Division Office has informed that the road has been fully reopened since the 12th after the road was partially reopened on Magh 11. The Road Division Office also said that the road has been fully reopened with the reopening of road traffic.
Meanwhile, passengers have demanded that dozers be kept ready on both sides until the snowfall. The Meteorological Department has informed that there may be more snowfall, so they have also requested that arrangements be made to ensure that people can travel easily.
